Justin Lavash is at the Oak tonight. Friday 23rd

July 23rd, 2010

Justin Lavash is a musician who has taken blues, folk and jazz styles and fused them to create something truly original and driving

His concerts are mostly solo because, as one critic recently observed, he is an orchestra. He commands the guitar with breathtaking skill and has a voice to match. This is an act which is as much at home on a big club stage as it is in an intimate venue.

Justin has been a wonderful supporter of the Royal oak and we are delighted that he is playing here on our final week .

Stephen Brandon ….. Friday 4th June 8pm

June 6th, 2010

All the way from Australia’s east coast with enough songs to slip by border patrol. After an extensive European tour, gaining a swag of excellent critics and making new friends SB finally settled down for a while in Berlin putting a band together recording a new album and continuing writing songs and performing them in the Berlin underground haunts that make the city so famous today.Whether the subject matter is love, loneliness or topics more slippery, a typical Brandon song demands your attention.

No Numbers Friday 30th April 8pm

April 29th, 2010

No Numbers are brand new three-piece from Prague featuring Steve Cautious (Ocean Versus Daughter, The Tower Of Dudes) and Pavel Drabek (Formerly Agave 9). They sound a bit like Sonic Youth playing Beastie Boys songs without practicing very much. Their drummer left the band after one show so the wonderful Nick “Silver Buckets” Jennings (Every band in Prague) will be filling in for this performance.
